How to create a parked domain in cPanel


Domain Parking is a feature in your cPanel which allows you to add and manage redirection of a unique registered domain name. By using domain parking you can add a domain to your park domains and easily redirect it to a desired URL/website.

For example: If you own 2 domains that is abcdomain.com, xyzdomain.com and you are having your website at abcdomain.com. So domain parking can be used here to make a single website visible on both the domain names. For that you simply need to add the domain in your parked domain and then set the redirection to the other domain on which you are having your website.

Domain parking is also used by the speculators as they own many domains and they can use it show the custom message like “Domain On Sale” or any other.

Please note that a parked domain is just a name to which you cannot use to create custom emails or to create an independent website. Also a domain can only be parked if it is having the same name-servers as that of your hosting plan in which you are going to park it.

After propagation of the name-servers, there are some steps by following which you can easily add a registered domain in your cPanel:

a) If your cPanel theme is X3 theme:
Step 1: Login to your cPanel.

Step 2: Scroll down to Domain section and click on “Parked Domains” icon.

Step 3: Under Create a New Parked Domain section enter the name of your domain which you want to park and click on “Add Domain” button.

Step 4: Now you need to click on Go Back” to redirect back to domain parking page.

You domain is now added as park domain in cPanel. You can see it on the same page just by scrolling down.

If you want to setup the domain redirection then you can follow the steps mentioned below:
1) To redirect the currently parked domain click on “Manage redirection” in front of the domain name.

2) Enter the desired URL at which you want to redirect your currently parked domain and click on “Save”.

3) Now you can press Go Back button as shown in the screenshot.

b) If your cPanel theme is paper lantern:
Step 1: Login to your cPanel.
Step 2: Scroll down to Domain section and click on Aliases icon.

Step 3: Under Create a New Alias section enter the domain name and click on “Add Domain” button.

To setup the domain redirection simply follow the below mentioned steps:
1) Click on “Manage Redirection” in front of the domain alias name that you want to redirect.
2) Enter the desired URL at which you want to redirect your currently added alias and click on “Save” button.
